General Architectural Specifications

Insulation Each panel shall be filled with rigid “ Foamed–In-Place” urethane having a thermal conductivity (K factor) of 0.125 BTU/hr./ft per degrees Fahrenheit/inch and an overall coefficient of heat transfer (u factor) of not more than 0.03. “R” factor shall be 29 or greater. Insulation shall have a 97% closed cell structure. Overall thickness available: 3.5”, 4” and 5” wood rail and 4” in High Density urethane rail. Fire hazard classification is a flame spread rating of 25 or less and certified with UL label. Factory Mutual approved and listed for wood frame galvanized panels. Urethane insulation will be injected in place to a minimum density of 2.0 pounds per cubic foot. (yielding a compression strength of 30 psi). R-22 or equal shall be used as an expanding agent in the manufacturing process.

Modular Panel Construction Standard wall and ceiling panels are constructed to exact dimensions. Cornersshall be 90 degree angles with interior radius. All panel edges shall have a wood or high-density foam rail formed in a tongue or groove configuration with gaskets on interior and exterior metal panel edge. Panel edges will be equipped with hex wrench activated, steel cam locking devices foamed in place at exact mounting locations. All locks will have integral rear flanges to permanently anchor their position. Access to locking devices shall be provided on interior of panels allowing erection of structure within confined areas if required.

Wind/Roof Loads & Thermal Barriers 1. Crown Tonka Modular Systems panels can meet live roof loads in excess of 80 lbs/psf., when specified. 2. Crown Tonka Modular Systems panels can meet wind loads in excess of 150 mph., when specified. 3. Crown Tonka Modular Systems can provide ceiling and wall panels with a 10-minute thermal barrier per ASTM E-84 test. 4. Certified test results and supporting calculations are available upon request.

Prepared Openings & Tapping Plate 1. Crown Tonka Modular Systems can foam into place OSB, Plywood or additional metals next to the interior skin of any wall panel to be used as a tapping plate to install interior control boxes or other devices. 2. All prepared openings are trimmed in metal and are reinforced with OSB or Plywood foamed into place next to both the interior and exterior skin. 3. Prepared door openings for steel entrance doors have wood 2 x 4 foamed into place along the perimeter of the rough opening. This gives a solid structure to attach the doorframe.

Roof Construction 1. Standard roof construction is a flat roof panel covered with a one piece white Durolast membrane with fasteners and matching flashing included. In addition sloped and A type gable roof systems and standing seam roofs are also available.
